His early years in High School were at Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the year 2019, he was named the Gatorade Football Player Of The Year for the Oklahoma side. He was also featured in the 2019 U. S Army All-American Game. In college, he both played at the University of Michigan before taking a switch to Alabama and then back to Michigan.
In college, he recorded 36 tackles and one interception in a number 13 games. As a freshman, he started six games where he recorded 46 tackles and an interception. He then went back to Michigan as a starter in the year 2021 receiving 1st team All-Big Ten Honors.
