Joshua-Douglas James Naylor, professionally called Josh Naylor is a professional baseball in America who plays as a first baseman and outfielder for the Cleveland Guardians baseball team.
Naylor had his amateur baseball career at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario and at Texas Tech University where he played college baseball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders baseball team.
Naylor was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the first round of the 2015 MLB draft. He signed with the Marlins for a signing bonus of $2.25 million. He made his professional debut that year with the Gulf Coast Marlins of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League.
For the 2016 minor league season, he was with the Greensboro Grasshoppers of the Class A South Atlantic League. He was traded in July 2016 to the San Diego Padres. The Padres assigned him to play with Lake Elsinore during the 2017 season. They later promoted him to the San Antonio Missions of the Class AA Texas League.
He made his MLB debut in May 2019 for the Padres when they faced the Toronto Blue Jays. He was traded to the Cleveland Indians on August 31, 2020.
