Andrew Paul Steckenrider is a Major League Baseball pitcher who pitches for the Seattle Mariners. He was a member of the Miami Marlins in the past.

Steckenrider went to Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, Georgia, and then to the University of Tennessee to play baseball.

In 2011, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Brewster Whitecaps. The Miami Marlins selected him in the eighth round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft, and he signed with them.

 

Steckenrider made his professional debut the next year with the Jamestown Jammers, where he stayed the entire season, going 1-2 with a 3.72 ERA in ten games (eight starts).

He pitched for the Greensboro Grasshoppers in 2013, going 1-1 with a 4.58 ERA before having Tommy John surgery in May.

Steckenrider pitched one scoreless inning for the GCL Marlins in 2014.

He pitched for Greensboro and the Jupiter Hammerheads in 2015, posting a 5-6 record and a 3.00 ERA in 25 games (13 starts), then he started for Jupiter, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, and the New Orleans Zephyrs in 2016, going 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA and 0.85 WHIP in 40 relief appearances.

After the 2016 season, the Marlins signed Steckenrider to a 40-man roster.
