Though Freddy Peralta only made one appearance, it was a strong one: on October 16th, in Game 4 of the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers, he came in to replace Gio Gonzalez after one batter in the second after Gonzalez had been struck by a line drive hit by Yasiel Puig and had to leave the game.

Even though he gave up a few walks in that inning, he did not allow a run. He went on to pitch two more scoreless innings until being replaced in the top of the fifth inning by pinch-hitter Domingo Santana.

There were no more runs until the Dodgers took the lead in the bottom of the 13th inning after Santana’s game-tying double. The closely contested series was lost by the Brewers in seven games.

He made a standout pitch against the Cincinnati Reds on April 3, 2019, in his second start of the year. He held them to 2 hits over 8 innings before handing the ball to Alex Wilson, who sealed the 1-0 victory.

In 39 games that season, including 8 starts, he finished 7-3 with a 5.29 record while still having consistency issues.
