In 2020, he started seven games and had a record of 1-2 with a 6.11 earned run average, 39 strikeouts, and 28 innings pitched.
Rogers was a part of the starting rotation for Miami to begin the year 2021. He won the National League Rookie of the Month Award for both the month of April and the month of May 2021 consecutively.
In April, he started the year with a record of 3-1 and a 1.29 earned run average in five starts. He also had thirty-eight strikeouts over twenty-eight innings pitched during the month.
After that impressive outing, he continued his good play in May, posting a record of 3-2 with a 2.34 earned run average and thirty-eight hitters struck out across six outings.
He was the first Marlins pitcher to win Rookie of the Month honors since José Fernández in July 2013, and he was the first Marlins player to win Rookie of the Month accolades since Justin Bour in September 2015.
It was in July of that year that the Marlins announced that Rogers would be their lone representative at the All-Star Game.
Despite having a losing record of 7–8, he concluded the season with a 2.64 earned run average, 157 strikeouts over 133 innings pitched, and 25 starts.
