Nick was born on November 11, 1996, in DeLand, Florida in the United States of America. He played baseball in high school at DeLand High School in DeLand, Florida. After high school, he enrolled at the University of Mississippi where he played college baseball for the Rebels. He was drafted during the 2018 MLB draft by the Miami Marlins in the 4th round of the draft.

He made his professional debut that year with the GCL Marlins, the Batavia Muckdogs, and the Greensboro Grasshoppers. During the 2019 minor league season, he played with the Jupiter Hammerheads. The 2020 minor league season was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic so he did not play in a game that season.

When the season resumed in 2021, he was assigned to play for both the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. The Marlins added his contract to their active roster in September 2021. He made his MLB debut for the team on September 18 2021.
