Garrett Nicholas Cooper is known to be an American-born professional baseball player who plays as first baseman for the Miami Marlins baseball team. He is 1.96 m tall.

He was born on December 25, 1990, in Torrance, California in the United States of America. He played baseball in high school at Loyola High School in Los Angeles. When he completed high school, he continued at El Camino College and Auburn University where he played college baseball.

During the 2013 MLB draft, the Milwaukee Brewers drafted him in the sixth round of the draft. He signed with them and was assigned to the Helena Brewers and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers to begin his professional career. The following season, he was assigned to play for Wisconsin, the AZL Brewers, and the Brevard County Manatees.

The Brewers made him spend the 2015 season with both the Brevard County and the Biloxi Shuckers. In 2016, he was with Biloxi and the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. The Brewers traded him to the New York Yankees in 2017 and he made his MLB for the Yankees on July 14 2017 after they promoted him to the major leagues. 

The Miami Marlins purchased his contract in November 2017 from the Yankees. He signed a contract worth $2.5 million with the Marlins to avoid salary arbitration.
