He pitched four innings, giving up five hits, two walks, and two runs (both on a single by Leonardo Reginatto), while striking out three and holding a 3-2 lead over Chris Reed’s last two innings.

Taylor was unable to pitch enough innings to get the win, therefore Reed took the loss. He had a poor season with the Columbia Fireflies of the South Atlantic League, going 1-9, 4.94 in 18 appearances (17 starts).

The Mets gave Blake an opportunity to pitch in AAA, where he made two starts for the Las Vegas 51s of the Pacific Coast League despite a 1-8, 5.59 record as a starter for the St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League.

Even though he allowed seven runs in 11 innings, he still won both of these. As a reliever in 2019, he was sent to the Mets’ AAA affiliate in Syracuse, where he appeared in one game for the Mets’ new AAA team in St. Lucie.

With 10 saves in 40 games and a combined record of 2-3, 2.16, he has 74 strikeouts in 66 2/3 innings of work. On December 5th, he was traded to the Houston Astros along with Kenedy Corona for center fielder Jake Marisnick.

Inflammation has been added to the diagnosis. Now that Taylor’s elbow issue has been diagnosed as inflammation rather than pain, fans can stop worrying about him.

Taylor’s return date has been pushed back, but he has avoided a serious injury that would have necessitated surgery.
