Aledmys Dáz Serrano, a professional baseball shortstop for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball, was born in Cuba on August 1, 1990. (MLB).
Before defecting to the United States in 2012, he competed for the Naranjas de Villa Clara in the Cuban National Series. Daiz joined the St. Louis Cardinals in 2014, and in 2016, he made his Major League Baseball debut. Additionally, he has represented the Toronto Blue Jays.
