Wade Miley was born Wade Allen Miley. He is one of the professional baseball pitchers who play for the Chicago Cubs baseball team. He grew up in Louisiana in the USA and played baseball at Loranger High School.
He then enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University after high school where he played college baseball for the Southeastern Louisiana Lions baseball team. While in college, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
Wade made his professional debut in 2008 after the Arizona Diamondbacks chose him in the first round of the 2008 MLB draft. He played with the Yakima Bears of the Class A-Short Season Northwest League that year. The Diamondbacks promoted him to the majors for the first time in August 2011. He played for the Diamondbacks till December 2014 when he was traded to the Boston Red Sox.
A year later, the Red Sox traded him to the Seattle Mariners. He was traded by the Mariners in July 2016 to the Baltimore Orioles. Wade signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2018 and in February 2019, the Houston Astros signed a one-year contract worth $4.5 million with Wade. The Chicago Cubs claimed him off waivers in November 2021.
