Evan Longoria is an American professional baseball third baseman for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Tampa Bay Rays from 2008 through 2017.
It is worth noting that he was voted CSN Bay Area 2005 Cape Cod League MVP, Big West Conference Co-Player of Year in 2006, and was a member of the Long Beach State baseball team.
The Rays selected him as the third overall pick in the 2006 MLB draft and selected him in the first round. The Rays promoted him to the majors in 2008, and he was selected to play for the American League in the MLB All-Star Game that year after spending two seasons in the minors.
Aside from that, he was selected as the American League’s Rookie of the Year for 2008. From 2008 through 2010, he was selected to three NBA All-Star teams.
A 12-inning walk-off home run in the final game of the 2011 season was one of the greatest hits in Rays’ history, breaking a tie with the Boston Red Sox and putting his team into the playoffs.
