Jack Rafe Flaherty, simply identified as Jack Flaherty is an American born professional baseball player with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team of Major League Baseball. Jack plays as a pitcher for the team and has been with the Cardinals since 2014.
Jack had his non-professional baseball career at the Harvard-Westlake School where he attended. In 2014, he was named the 2014 Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of California and the Los Angeles Times also selected him as their baseball player of the year. He was drafted by the St Louis Cardinals that same year in the 1st round of the 2014 MLB draft.
He signed with the Cardinals and began making his professional debut that year when he was assigned to play with the Gulf Coast League. He spent the 2016 minor league season playing for the Palm Beach Cardinals and spent the 2017 season with the Springfield Cardinals. The Cardinals promoted him to the major leagues in September 2017 and he made his MLB debut that day.
The Cardinals named him their 2017 Minor League Pitcher of the Year and in March 2022, he signed a one-year contract worth $5 million with the Cardinals.
