Brandon David Waddell, simply known as Brandon Waddell is a professional baseball pitcher currently with the St Louis Cardinals baseball team. Brandon was born on June 3, 1994, in Houston, Texas in the USA where he was raised.
Brandon played baseball when he attended Clear Lake High School in Houston, Texas. After he completed, he got into the University of Virginia where he played college baseball for the Virginia Cavaliers baseball team. He graduated from the University of Virginia where he earned a degree in economics and has got admitted to the master’s program in the Curry School of Education at Virginia.
In 2015, the Pittsburgh Pirates selected him in the 5th round of the 2015 MLB draft. He agreed to at for the Pirates and signed with them. He received a signing bonus of $315,000. He made his professional debut that year with the West Virginia Black Bears of the Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League.
For the 2016 season, he spent it with the Bradenton Marauders of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League. He was later on promoted to the Altoona Curve of the Class AA Eastern League in May of that same year. During the 2018 and 2019 seasons, he was with the Altoona Curve and the Indianapolis Indians of the Class AAA International League.
The Pirates added him to their 40-man roster on August 9, 2020. He made his MLB debut on August 14, 2020, in a game against the Cincinnati Reds. Brandon was claimed off waivers by the St Louis Cardinals in June 2021.
