Tommy Edman graduated with a 4.48 GPA from La Jolla Country Day School in San Diego, California, in 2013. He was a National Merit Scholar and an AP Scholar.

As a junior and senior, he was team captain and a four-year varsity letterman at shortstop. Tommy Edman holds the school’s career hits, doubles, runs, stolen bases, and ERA records.

He also spent two years on the varsity water polo team. Tommy At Stanford University, he played three seasons of college baseball (2014-16).

In 2016, he was named to the First Team All-Pac 12 and the CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team Baseball.

Tommy Edman was named the Most Outstanding Player in the Bloomington (Ind.) Regional Batting Competition in 2014. 417 (10-24) and a walk-off regional-clinching home run to defeat Indiana and advance to the Super Regional against Vanderbilt.

He hit his first left-handed home run in his career. Edman, Tommy Edman had the greatest GPA of any Stanford baseball player in the last 40 years while majoring in Math and Computational Science at Stanford.

Alex Blandino (2014 Reds), Cal Quantrill (2016 Padres), and Nico Hoerner (2016 Padres) were colleagues at Stanford (2018 Cubs).

Meet  Maureen Kwak And John Edman, Jr.

Maureen Kwak And John Edman, Jr. are the parents of Tommy Edman. John Eamn is a four-year starter at Williams College in Massachusetts, now instructs baseball and teaches math at La Jolla. Later, he went to graduate school at the University of Michigan and volunteered as a Wolverines assistant coach.

Maureen, his mother, was born in South Korea and immigrated to the United States when she was a child.

Maureen Kwak And John Edman, Jr. have other two children aside from Tommy.
