Sean Reid-Foley Parents: Meet Dave Foley and Beverly Reid

Sean Reid-Foley

Before a Midwest League game between Great Lakes and Lansing at Dow Diamond in Midland on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, Dave Foley,  laughs with his son and Great Lakes Loons pitcher David Reid-Foley.

Sean Reid-Foley, Foley’s other son, pitches for Lansing. David Reid-Foley can vouch for his brother’s major-league speed.

When he was 11 years old, the Great Lakes Loons pitcher recalls acting as if he was trying to sleep on the top bunk and asking his younger brother and lower-bunk inhabitant Sean for a lantern.

David Reid-Foley remarked, “I’m not sure how fast he threw it because it was dark.” “However, it went by quickly. My front teeth were chipped. It was his left arm that he used.”

Sean Reid-Foley, a starting pitcher for the Lansing Lugnuts, and David Reid-Foley, a reliever for the Loons, will face off in opposite dugouts, a rare occurrence.

With a 2:05 p.m. game Friday at Dow Diamond, the clubs wrap out a three-game series.
