Alexis Diaz, born Alexis Omar Díaz is one of the professional baseball pitchers with the Cincinnati Reds baseball team of Major League Baseball(MLB). Alexis was born on September 28, 1996, in a town called Humacao in Puerto Rico.
Alexis had his non-professional baseball career in Puerto Rico. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 12th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He started his professional career that year after he was made to play for the Arizona League Reds.
He did not play in a game in 2016 due to an injury. During the 2018 minor league season, he was with the rookie-level Greeneville Red throughout the season. For the 2019 minor league season, he played between the AZL Reds and the Single-A Dayton Dragons where he made 27 appearances for the two teams.
The 2020 minor league season was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic thus Alexis did not play in any game that season. He was assigned to play for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts in 2021.
The Reds added him to their 40-man roster in November 2021. Alexis made his MLB debut on April 8 2022 for the Reds when they played against the Atlanta Braves.
