Tony Santillan plays professional baseball as a pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team of Major League Baseball(MLB). Tony had his amateur career in Texas at Seguin High School in Arlington, Texas where he was born.
When Tony completed high school, the Cincinnati Reds drafted him in the second round of the 2015 MLB draft. He agreed to play for the Reds instead of attending college and signed with them. He made his professional debut that year after he was assigned to play with the Arizona League Reds.
In 2016, he spent the season playing for both the Billings Mustangs and Dayton Dragons and he spent the 2017 season with only the Drayton Dragons. He was assigned to the Daytona Tortugas at the beginning of the 2018 season and he was promoted to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos before the season ended.
During the 2019 minor league season, he was with the Chattanooga Lookouts. He was added to the Reds 40–man roster after the 2019 season. There was no game to play in 2020 as the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Reds promoted him to the major leagues in June 2021 and he made his MLB debut the next day the Reds.
