Jake Fraley grew up crowded around the television or racing to his home team’s stadium on summer nights to see Major League Baseball stars sparkle under the lights, much like many other kids.
Fraley, a multi-sport athlete, quickly realized baseball was the way to go.
Year after year, when his parents asked if he wanted to play baseball again, he replied, “Yeah, let’s go.” “I’m quite excellent at this, and I really love working on it,” the mindset shifted. “I’ll do it,” Fraley declared.
When Fraley decided to pursue baseball, he made it a point to prioritize his family.
He attributes much of his success to his father, recalling “the sacrifices he made to allow me and my siblings and sisters to go after whatever we wanted to.” “Obviously, baseball was the answer for me, and I’m grateful for that,” Fraley said.
Fraley now appreciates his father’s sacrifices even more after all these years.
“As you get older, you start to recognize the great significance that small things have for not only yourself but for your entire family, but it takes on a whole new meaning when you become a parent,” Fraley said.
Fraley confronts everyday struggles managing a baseball career and a family as a father of a 4-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter.
