Faedo was selected 18th overall in the first round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft by the Detroit Tigers. He signed with the Tigers, but due to his workload at Florida, he did not play in 2017 and sat out the season.
Faedo began the 2018 season with the Lakeland Flying Tigers of the Florida State League’s Class A Advanced division. On June 18, the Tigers sent Faedo to the Erie SeaWolves of the Class AA Eastern League.
In 24 starts for the two teams, he was 5–10 with a 4.02 ERA. To begin the new year, Faedo returned to Erie. He finished 6–7 with a 3.90 ERA and 134 strikeouts in 115+13 innings in 22 starts with the SeaWolves in 2019.
Faedo was added to the Tigers’ 40-man roster after the 2020 season.
Faedo will have Tommy John surgery on his pitching elbow on December 19, 2020, which would keep him out for the whole 2021 season, according to the Tigers.
Faedo returned to Lakeland for the 2022 season and completely recovered from surgery. He recorded a 2.53 ERA in three appearances for the Flying Tigers before being sent to the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens.
After making only one start for Toledo, he was called up to the Tigers on May 4 and made his major league debut in the second game of a doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He started and went five innings, giving up eight hits, two earned runs, one walk, and one strikeout. After departing the game with the score at 2–2, he was handed a no-decision.
After two starts, Faedo was sent back to Toledo. After Michael Pineda’s injury, the Tigers called him up again on May 16. On May 16, near his childhood home, he began a game against the Tampa Bay Rays and only gave up one run in 5+23 innings.
