Andrew Scott Hutchison is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Detroit Tigers in the United States.
He has played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, and Texas Rangers in the Major League Baseball (MLB).
Hutchison was picked in the 15th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays out of Lakeland High School in Lakeland, Florida.
In 2010, he debuted in minor league baseball with the Auburn Doubledays before being promoted to the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts.
Hutchison had a 2–3 record with a 2.49 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 682 innings that year.
He started the 2011 season with Lansing, then went on to pitch for the High-A Dunedin Blue Jays and Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

Baseball America ranked Hutchison as the Blue Jays’ seventh greatest prospect prior to the 2012 season. He made three starts for New Hampshire in 2012, going 2–1 with a 2.16 ERA.
Hutchison’s contract with the Fisher Cats was purchased by the Jays on April 19, 2012.
In a 9–5 win over the Kansas City Royals on April 21, 2012, he made his first MLB start, tossing 5+13 innings and allowing 5 earned runs with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks.
Hutchison was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right ulnar collateral ligament injury after making 11 starts.
Hutchison was later placed on the 60-day disabled list, and it was reported on August 7 that he would need Tommy John surgery to fix his injured elbow.
