Kody Clemens is an American professional baseball second baseman in the Detroit Tigers organization. Clemens was selected by the Detroit Tigers with the 79th overall pick of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft.
He played college baseball for the Texas Longhorns. Clemens is the son of former MLB pitcher Roger Clemens.
Houston, Texas’ Memorial High School was Clemens’ high school. During his senior year of high school, he batted.553 as a member of the school baseball team.
A Perfect Game Honorable Mention in 2013 and a first-team all-district selection in 2013 and 2014, respectively. He has agreed to play college baseball for the Texas Longhorns at the University of Texas at Austin.
As a freshman in 2016, he hit five home runs with a.242 average. Clemens had Tommy John surgery as a junior in 2017.
However, Clemens was the designated hitter for the squad. Clemens’ junior season was his best yet as a batter. With 23 home runs, the batting average was 352. As a result of his performance, he was named Big 12 Player of the Week.
