Daz Cameron is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He attended Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Georgia, and was selected by the Houston Astros in the 2015 MLB draft.
Although he was considered a first-round selection pick in the 2015 MLB draft because of his supposed exorbitant salary demands, Cameron ended up in the competitive lottery pick round because of the rumors.
His selection by the Houston Astros, who had the most money to spend, was seen as the best possibility for him to sign with a franchise.
In exchange for a rumored $4 million signing bonus, Cameron chose the Astros. As soon as he signed his contract, Cameron was assigned to the GCL Astros of the Rookie League.
He was demoted to the Appalachian League’s Greeneville Astros after hitting just.222 with six RBIs in 21 games. In 30 games with the Astros, he hit.272 with 11 RBIs and a.721 OPS.
The Quad Cities River Bandits of the Class A Midwest League were the first team Cameron played for in 2016.
After hitting just.143 in 21 games with Quad Cities, the New York–Penn League’s Class A-Short Season team sent him to the Tri-City ValleyCats.
