Robert Edward Grossman is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Detroit Tigers in the United States. He was a member of the Houston Astros, Minnesota Twins, and Oakland Athletics in the past.
Grossman was chosen by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2008 after attending high school in Texas.
Grossman was born in San Diego, California, but grew up in Cypress, Texas, where he attended Cy-Fair High School and played varsity baseball for four years from 2005 to 2008.
As a freshman, he was named to the all-district first team. The squad won the 5A state baseball championship in his junior year.

Grossman was a member of the Bradenton Marauders of the Florida State League’s Class A-Advanced in 2010.
Grossman became the first minor league player since Nick Swisher in 2004 to score 100 runs and walk 100 times in a season in 2011, and the first player in the FSL to accomplish so since 1998 while playing for the Marauders.
For the Pittsburgh Pirates, he was voted Minor League Player of the Year.
Grossman signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Detroit Tigers on January 5, 2021.
Grossman hit his first career walk-off home run against Justin Wilson on May 28 to help the Tigers beat the New York Yankees 3–2 in extra innings.
Grossman earned a career-high 98 walks (fourth in the AL) and a solid.357 on-base percentage while hitting .239 in 2021.
