Jandel Gustave is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He signed with the Houston Astros as an amateur free agent in 2010.
Gustave pitched in the Class AA Texas League for the Corpus Christi Hooks in 2015. He was named a playoff All-Star after posting a 5–2 record with a 2.15 ERA and 20 saves.
After the season, the Astros added him to their 40-man roster. Gustave began the 2016 season with the Class AAA Fresno Grizzlies before being promoted to the major leagues on August 10.
Gustave was named to the Astros’ Opening Day roster in 2017. On April 19, 2017, he was placed on the disabled list due to a muscular strain.
He had Tommy John surgery in June, which ended his prospects of playing the rest of the season.
Gustave finished with a 5.40 ERA in six outings. While rehabbing from Tommy John’s surgery, he missed the whole 2018 season.
On October 31, 2018, he was outrighted to the minors and removed from the 40-man roster.
