Freddy Peralta Diaz (born June 4, 1996) is a Dominican Republic professional baseball pitcher for Major League Baseball’s Milwaukee Brewers.
In April 2013, Peralta signed as an international free agent with the Seattle Mariners. That year, he made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Mariners, where he played the entire season, going 3-3 with a 1.46 ERA in 13 appearances (ten starts).
He pitched for the Arizona League Mariners in 2014, going 1-6 with a 5.29 ERA in 12 appearances, and he returned in 2015, going 2-3 with a 4.11 ERA in 11 starts (nine starts).
Peralta started the season with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox before being called up to Milwaukee on May 13 to make his Major League Baseball debut.
At Coors Field, he made his debut against the Colorado Rockies on the same night. In 5.2 innings, he struck out 13 batters while allowing 0 runs, breaking the Brewers team mark for strikeouts by a first-time starter.
Peralta and the Brewers agreed to a five-year, $15.5 million contract deal on February 28, 2020. Peralta pitched in 15 games for the Brewers in 2020, with a 3-1 record and a 3.99 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 29.1 innings thrown.
The Milwaukee Brewers signed Freddy Peralta to a five-year, $15,500,000 contract that included a $1,174,800 signing bonus, $15,500,000 in guaranteed money, and a $3,100,000 yearly average salary. Peralta will earn a basic salary of $2,250,000 in 2022, with a total salary of $2,484,960.
