Aamir Hussain was a Pakistani politician, columnist, and television host. Hussain was a top-ranking TV anchor and has been listed three times in The 500 influential Muslims worldwide, and was among 100 popular personalities of Pakistan.
As the man behind the foundation’s inception, he was a key figure. He was listed in the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre’s yearly publication The 500 Most Influential Muslims from 2013 to 2015.
Sindh Rangers arrested Hussain in August 2016 after MQM workers attacked media outlets and MQM leaders were arrested.
Pakistan’s Anti-Terrorism Court ordered the authorities to put the name of Hussain on the Exit Control List in February 2017 after Hussain was charged with facilitation of hate speech however the police failed to produce Hussain in court proceedings, resulting in his removal off the list.
When Hussain joined PTI in March of this year, he was only 19 years old. In the 2018 Pakistani general election, he was re-elected to the National Assembly as a PTI candidate for constituency NA-245 (Karachi East-IV).
On October 4, 2021, he resigned from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and resigned from the National Assembly of Pakistan.

Aamir Hussain was born to his parents Sheik Liaquat Hussain (father) and Ghousia Mehmooda Sultana (mother). His father Liaquat Hussain was a Pakistani politician and political figure who was a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 1997 to 1999.
In the 1997 general election, he was elected to Pakistan’s National Assembly from Constituency NA-195 (Karachi East-IV) as a candidate of the Haq Parast Group (MQM).
