An outpouring of condolences and horror at Gaffar Chowdhury’s death was led by President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and a number of other notables.

In a statement of sorrow, Bangladesh’s president said that the country had lost a pioneer who was progressive, innovative, and had a strong belief in the spirit of the Liberation War.

While fighting for independence, the Bengali people were inspired by his song “Language Movement,” which became an anthem of national pride.

President Hamid also offered prayers for the soul of Gaffar Chowdhury’s departed loved ones and sent his sincere sympathies to the family of the late journalist.

The Prime Minister sent a condolence message to the family of the deceased, in which he prayed for peace for the departed soul and expressed his condolences to them.
