Amaré Barno is a professional football player who is a defensive end for the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers. He stands 1.98 m tall and weighs 111 kg. He enrolled at Butler Community College and played college football for the Butler Grizzlies after being academically unable to play Division I football.
The Butler Grizzlies’ coaches switched him from safety to linebacker during his time there. He racked up 66 stops, 14 stops for a loss, and 4.5 sacks as a sophomore. He made a transfer commitment to Virginia Tech in 2018. He carried on playing football at Virginia Tech, where he played for the Hokies.

He was once more shifted to a different position and started at defensive end for his redshirt junior season. He led the Atlantic Coast Conference with 16 tackles for loss and concluded the season with 6.5 sacks, a team high. He recorded 3.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for losses in 2021.
At the NFL combine that year, he ran the fastest 40-yard dash of any linebacker that year, clocking in at 4.37 seconds after declaring his plan to participate in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Carolina Panthers selected Barno with the 189th overall choice in round six of the 2022 NFL Draft.
