ABC News has confirmed that a fourth-grade teacher and a 10-year-old kid were among those murdered in a mass shooting at a Texas elementary school on Tuesday.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, west of San Antonio, killing at least 19 children and two teachers.
The alleged gunman has been identified as Salvador Ramos, an 18-year-old Uvalde High School student, according to authorities.
“After parents drop their children off at school, they expect to be able to pick them up when the school day is over. And there are families who are currently grieving “Greg Abbott, the governor, told reporters.
How Did Amerie Jo Garza Die?
Garza met with US Marshals on Tuesday night, who informed him that his daughter had been killed in the elementary school shooting.
Angel Garza, Amerie jo Garza’s father, informed ABC News that his daughter just turned 10 two weeks ago, on May 10.
“Thank you all for your prayers and assistance in the search for my kid,” Garza said in a statement to ABC News. “She’s been discovered.
My tiny angel is now flying with the angels in the sky. Don’t take a single second for granted. Hug your loved ones. Inform them that you adore them. Amerie jo, I adore you. For my sake, keep an eye on your little brother.”
