Andrew Vasquez’s full name is Andrew Jude Vasquez. He plays professional baseball as a pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. Andrew had his non-professional baseball career at Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
After high school, he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 44th round of the 2011 MLB draft but he did not sign with them and chose to go play college baseball at the University of California in Santa Barbara and Westmont College.
Upon graduating from the University, the Minnesota Twins drafted him in the 32nd round of the 2015 MLB draft. He signed with them and made his professional debut that season with the Rookie-level Gulf Coast Twins.
The following season, he was made to play for both the Class A Short Season Elizabethton Twins and the Class A Cedar Rapids Kernels. Andrew played again for Cedar Rapids in 2017 and with the Class A-Advanced Fort Myers Miracle.
The Twins assigned him to play the 2018 season with the Fort Myers, the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts and the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings. That year, he was promoted to the major leagues and he made his MLB debut on September 1, 2018.
The Toronto Blue Jays signed him into their team on March 15, 2022. He signed a one-year contract worth $800,000 with them.
