Outside linebacker Anthony Barr is a professional football player for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He is 1.96 m tall and 117 kg in weight. He participated in football and track at Loyola High School. He ran for 1,890 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior, earning him an All-State recognition at running back for the Loyola Cubs football team.
He received scholarships from a variety of universities, and after comparing Notre Dame and UCLA, he decided on UCLA in January 2010. He participated in the UCLA Bruins football team as a collegiate player. With 10 sacks for 66 yards, he led the team and received the Lott IMPACT Award. He was the first UCLA player since Kai Forbath to be named to the USA Today first team All-American in December 2013.
The Minnesota Vikings selected Barr with the ninth overall choice in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He was selected for his fourth straight Pro Bowl in 2018. In 13 games, he recorded 55 tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble for the season. On July 30, 2020, the Vikings placed him on the reserve/COVID-19 list; four days later, he was activated. He was placed on injured reserve in September 2020, after suffering a torn pectoral muscle in Week 2. On August 3, 2022, Barr signed with the Dallas Cowboys.
