The Atlanta Braves are a professional baseball club situated in the Atlanta metropolitan region that competes in Major League Baseball. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, the Braves are a member club of the National League East division in Major League Baseball .
From 1966 through 1996, the team’s home games were played in Atlanta–Fulton County Stadium, and from 1997 to 2016, they were played at Turner Field. Truist Park has served as the team’s home stadium since 2017. Spring training games for the Atlanta Braves are held at CoolToday Park in North Port, Florida.
Braves is a phrase that refers to a Native American warrior, and it was originally used in 1912 to refer to the team. They are known as “the Bravos” and are sometimes referred to as “America’s Team” due to the fact that their games were televised on the nationally available television network TBS from the 1970s until 2007, resulting in the team having a nationwide fan base.
