Baker Reagan Mayfield is a quarterback for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League. After a stint with Texas Tech, Mayfield played collegiate football for Oklahoma, where he won the Heisman Trophy as a senior.

On July 24, 2018, Mayfield and the Browns came to terms on a four-year rookie deal that had a $32.68 million guaranteed salary.
The Browns decided to exercise Mayfield’s fifth-year contract option, which came with a guaranteed $18.9 million for the 2022 season, on April 23, 2021. On July 6, 2022, Mayfield was traded to the Carolina Panthers in return for a conditional fifth-round draft pick in 2024.
