Ben Rortvedt, a catcher for the Minnesota Twins, made his debut in the major leagues early in the 2021 season.
He went on to play 38 games with the Twins, finishing with a batting average of .169, three home runs, and seven RBIs.
Ben was mostly on the bench and served as a backup for Ryan Jeffers and Mitch Garver.
After graduating from high school in Wisconsin, he was selected by the Twins in the second round of the amateur draft in 2016.
Ben was part of a massive five-player trade that sent him to the New York Yankees on March 13, 2022, only one day after Garver, one of the players he had backed up in his rookie season, was sent to the Texas Rangers in exchange for SS Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
This ended up laying the groundwork for the deal that took place the following day when the Bronx Bombers received Rortvedt, Kiner-Falefa, and former MVP, Josh Donaldson, in exchange for C Gary Sanchez and 3B Gio Urshela.
