Albert Pujols was an only child of his father, Bienvenido Pujols, he was a softball pitcher who struggled with alcoholism. Albert was raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, mostly by his grandmother, America Pujols, and 10 of his uncles and aunts.

Pujols often had to take his father home when his father got drunk following games. Growing up, Pujols practiced baseball using limes for balls and a milk carton for a glove.

Pujols, his father, and his grandmother immigrated in 1996 to Washington Heights in New York City, where Pujols witnessed a shooting at a bodega. Partly because of the shooting, they moved two months later to Independence, Missouri, to join some relatives.

On January 16, 1980, in the Dominican Republic, José Alberto Pujols, better known by his stage name Albert Pujols, was born. He is a first baseman and designated hitter in the Major League Baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals at the moment (MLB).

He was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals, where he debuted in 2001. He Al has experience playing with both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Angels.

Pujols was a prolific winner for St. Louis, earning three National League (NL), Most Valuable Player (MVP), and nine All-Star selections (2001, 2003–2010).

After joining the Angels in 2012, he had one All-Star appearance in 2015. After rejoining the St. Louis Cardinals once more in 2022, he was elected as an all-star once more.
