On August 31 2022, the world received the news of the death of Bill Turnbull, a renowned British journalist. He died at the age of 66 from prostate cancer. He completed his education at Eton College and the University of Edinburgh, where he served as editor of the student newspaper.
He received his degree from Cardiff University in 1978. His career began in 1978 at the little town station in Scotland called Radio Clyde, and he then worked as a freelancer in the USA for a while. He began his career with the BBC in 1986 as a reporter for the Today show and Breakfast Time. In 1990, he was appointed as a correspondent for BBC News.
He reported from more than thirty locations while covering a wide range of domestic and international stories, including a four-year spell as a Washington Correspondent in the United States. He covered several significant American stories as a result of his work in this capacity, including the O. J. Simpson murder trial and the Monica Lewinsky scandal that toppled Bill Clinton’s administration.
He debuted his own radio show on Classic FM in April 2016. The event ran on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. He revealed his cancer diagnosis to the public in the same month that Bill Turnbull and Fiona Phillips’ advice on how to age properly was presented on BBC One in ten episodes of Holding Back the Years.

Bill Turnbull had three children with his wife, Sarah McCombie. He had two sons and a daughter. His first son is Henry Turnbull. He was born in October 1988.
A year later, Will Turnbull was born. Fiona Turnbull is the last and only daughter of Bill. She was born in August 1991.
