Bill Turnbull was a British journalist and presenter, who in later life worked as a presenter for the radio station Classic FM, after many years as a presenter with the BBC.
From 2001 to 2016, he was the primary male host of BBC Breakfast. He also hosted the religious program Songs of Praise and the quiz show Think Tank.
Turnbull was born to an English father with Scottish ancestry and an English mother on January 25, 1956, in Guildford, Surrey.
He attended Eton College and then went on to edit the student newspaper at the University of Edinburgh. In 1978, he earned his degree from Cardiff University.
