He graduated from Cardiff University in 1978. His career started in 1978 at the little Scottish town station Radio Clyde, and he later spent some time working as a freelancer in the USA.

Simpson murder trial and the Monica Lewinsky scandal that brought down Bill Clinton’s administration. In April 2016, he launched his own radio program on Classic FM. From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, the show was on.
On three occasions of The One Show in 2016, he co-hosted with Alex Jones. In the same month that Bill Turnbull and Fiona Phillips’ advise on how to age well was broadcast on BBC One in ten episodes of Holding Back the Years, he made the public aware of his cancer diagnosis.
