The Milwaukee Brewers’ pitcher Brandon Woodruff, real name Brandon Kyle Woodruff, is an American-born professional baseball player. Richard and Belinda Woodruff welcomed him into the world on February 10, 1993 in Tupelo, Mississippi, in the United States.
In high school, Brandon played baseball at Wheeler High School in Wheeler, Mississippi. He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the fifth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft out of high school, but he decided to play college baseball at Mississippi State University instead of signing with the Rangers.
In 2012, he participated in collegiate summer baseball with the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Harwich Mariners. He was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the eleventh round of the 2014 MLB Draft. He joined them and played for the Helena Brewers in his first season as a professional. He played for the Brevard County Manatees in 2015.
He was given the Manatees as his starting team for the 2016 campaign by the Brewers. In the middle of the campaign, he was moved up to the Biloxi Shuckers. He participated in 2017 with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. He was promoted to the major leagues by the Milwaukee Brewers in June 2017, and on August 4, 2017, he made his MLB debut.
