Bryan Anthony Shaw is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Cleveland Guardians. He played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, and Seattle Mariners in the past.
Shaw is the son of Richard Shaw, a California Highway Patrol officer, and Michelle (Shelli) Shaw. He played baseball, football, and basketball at Livermore High School in Livermore, California.
Shaw went to CSU Long Beach. For the Long Beach State Dirtbags baseball team, he played college baseball.
Vance Worley, a teammate, was Shaw’s college roommate. Shaw was a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Chatham A’s in 2007.
The Arizona Diamondbacks selected Shaw in the second round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft. Arizona called him up on June 10, 2011.
That day, Shaw made his major league debut, replacing Esmerling Vásquez, who had just given up a leadoff double.
