Award-winning actor, Darren Criss has sorrowfully has announced the death of his beloved older brother, Charles Chriss.
Charles Criss died at the young age of 36 in February.
In a statement released on his official Instagram account on March 2, Darren described his brother “as an artist, he possessed a raw, inimitable talent that never ceased to inspire me. A distinct voice and songwriting style that I greatly admired for its singularity and sincerity.”
“His impressive skills as a musician mixed with his poetic observation of the world yielded a prolific amount of music that was endlessly unique, clever, fun, intriguing and beautiful to me … A fitting metaphor for his very soul,” he continued.
Charles Criss is survived by a wife and three children.

On Wednesday, the Glee star confirmed Charles Criss’s death by suicide, stating in his emotional online tribute that it was “a colossal shock.”
Darren took to Instagram to share the sad news with numerous photos of his late brother, as well as a detailed statement about his death.
“We will never know just how long he was fighting this war within himself, but last week, it consumed him fully and he succumbed by taking his own life,” Darren wrote.
While the actor said he was unsure of how much he wanted to share with everyone regarding the details of his brother’s death, he ultimately decided it was better to be as clear as he could be about what happened.
