David Donald Shula Biography

David Donald Shula was born on May 28, 1959, in Lexington, Kentucky. Following Don Shula’s NFL career, the Shula family relocated to Detroit in 1960 and then to Baltimore in 1963. For the Dallas Cowboys, Shula was recruited as offensive coordinator in 1989 by Jimmy Johnson. He served in that position for two seasons. Following trust issues , Shula was dismissed from his job as offensive coordinator after the 1990 season.

He left Dallas shortly after to become an assistant coach with the Cincinnati Bengals, which he held until his retirement in 2002.
