For the New England Patriots of the National Football League, Cole Strange plays guard in American football. He is 1.96 m tall and 139 kg in weight. He played football and went to Farragut High School. As a senior, he had 103.5 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks to earn the Knoxville Interscholastic League Defensive Player of the Year award. He primarily played defensive end.
He attended the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga after graduating from high school, where from 2016 to 2021 he played college football for the Chattanooga Mocs. He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is presently enrolled in UTC’s online program for a master’s degree in engineering management.
He started six games at left guard while a redshirt freshman and participated in 10. He was a redshirt sophomore who started every game as left guard and was second-team All-Southern Conference (SoCon). After making 11 starts at left guard in conference games as a redshirt junior, he was once again named to the second team.
During his redshirt senior season, he started four of of five potential games at left guard and took home the Jacobs Blocking Award as the league’s top blocker. He received a first-team All-SoCon honor in 2021 and the Jacobs Blocking Award for the second consecutive year. He participated in the 2022 Senior Bowl following the conclusion of his college career. In the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, he was chosen by the New England Patriots.
