Colt McCoy is an American football quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Texas, where he won several awards and honors as a senior in 2009.
A career 63.1% passer, he finished with 536 completions out of 849 attempts for 9,344 yards and 116 touchdowns.
He is fourth all-time in Texas high school passing history and the all-time leader in Texas Division 2A high school passing history.
As a junior and senior, McCoy punted for Jim Ned High School.
As a sophomore, McCoy also manned the free safety position.
However, his father no longer permits him to play defense after he sustained a concussion while tackling 215-pound Bangs High School running back Jacoby Jones (not to be confused with the wide receiver of the same name).
As a result of McCoy’s concussion, Jim Ned lost their next two games and fell from an undefeated 8-0 record.
And in 2003, McCoy was a part of the Texas 2A state championship team that lost to the San Augustine Wolves.
