Connor McGovern plays center for the New York Jets of the National Football League in American football. He is 1.93 meters tall and 139 kg in weight. He was a member of the football squad at Shanley High School, where he also attended. He attended the University of Missouri after high school, where he played college football for the Missouri Tigers.
He was selected 144th overall by the Denver Broncos in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. After sitting out his rookie season, McGovern appeared in 15 games, starting the season’s final five at right guard.
He was chosen to start the 2018 season as the right guard. After Matt Paradis suffered a season-ending injury in Week 11, he was promoted to the starting center position and remained there for the remainder of the campaign. When another player, Paradis, left as a free agency and started all 16 games, he was chosen to take his place as the starting center for the 2019 football season.
On April 2, 2020, he reached an agreement with the New York Jets for a three-year, $27 million contract. He started all 16 of his games at center during the 2020 campaign. McGovern started at center for the Jets in 2021. Due to a knee injury he suffered in Week 16, he was put on injured reserve on December 27, 2021.
