Corey Ray is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021.
Chicago, Illinois-based Simeon Career Academy educated Ray. He took part in 2012 Under Armour All-American Game in the summer before his senior year.
However, after being chosen by the Seattle Mariners in the Major League Baseball Draft in 2013, he declined to sign with them and instead chose to play collegiate baseball with the University of Louisville Cardinals.
As a freshman in 2014, Ray started 19 of the 43 games he played in for the Cardinals. There were 17 hits, one home run, and one run batted in for him, with a batting average of.325/.416/.481 (RBI).
Afterward, he spent the summer playing in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Wareham Gatemen. He slugged.325/.389/.543 with 11 home runs, 56 RBI, and 34 stolen bases in 65 games as a sophomore in 2015.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, Ray stole home to give Louisville the win over Wake Forest. After the season was over, he went on to play for the USA collegiate national team in the off-season.
