Professional cornerback Corn Elder plays for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League. At 1.78 meters in height, he weighs 84 kilos. At Ensworth High School, he participated in football. His 2,618 yards and 39 touchdowns on the ground as a senior helped the team win the Division II-AA state championship for the third time in a row.
He won Tennessee’s Mr. Football Player of the Year twice while he was fresh out of high school and was regarded as a four-star prospect. In addition to being a University of Miami student, he played football for the Miami Hurricanes. As a true freshman in 2013, he played in 10 games, recorded seven tackles, and gained 164 yards on kickoff returns for seven times.
As a senior, he played in all 13 games and had a standout season as one of Miami’s finest defensive playmakers. He received second-team All-ACC accolades from the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association and first-team All-ACC recognition from ACC coaches. In the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers selected Elder with the 152nd overall pick.
In August 2019, he was released as part of the final roster cuts. He joined the New York Giants practice squad in September 2019. He joined the Detroit Lions in April 2021 and was cut loose in August. Elder was released by the Washington Commanders on August 30, 2022, and the following day he was added to the practice squad.
