Danielle Collins is an American professional tennis player. She reached career-high WTA rankings of No. 8 in singles and world No. 86 in doubles.
Collins has won two singles titles on the WTA Tour, one at the Palermo Open in 2021 and another at the Stanford Classic in 2021. At the 2022 Australian Open, she competed in the final of a major singles tournament for the first time.
At the University of Virginia, where Collins competed in tennis collegiately, she won the NCAA singles championship twice, in 2014 and 2016, during her sophomore and senior years, respectively.
She ended her collegiate career at Virginia in 2016 as the player ranked number one in all of college tennis.
Her breakthrough came at the 2019 Australian Open, where she reached the semifinals and won a match against Angelique Kerber, the world’s No. 2 player, on her way there. Prior to that, she had already established herself on the WTA Tour by reaching the semifinals of the 2018 Miami Open as a qualifier.
Additionally, Collins competed in the singles competition at the 2020 French Open and the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, where he reached the quarterfinals of both competitions.
