Daron Payne, a defensive tackle for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League, was born on May 27, 1997.
Before being selected by Washington in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, he played college football at Alabama, where he won the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship and was named the team’s most valuable player on defense.
Payne played high school football for the Mounties while attending Shades Valley High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He chose the University of Alabama to play college football and was a five-star recruit.
