Originally from Miami, Florida, Chris Shula is a football coach for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. He was born on February 5, 1986, and is currently the linebackers coach for the Rams. He received his education at St. Thomas Aquinas, a private, Roman Catholic, college-preparatory high school in the state of Florida, in the United States.
He went to Miami University for his undergraduate studies in sports studies after finishing his high school education. There, he met the man who would become his lifelong friend, Sean McVay. Shula and McVay were college classmates, and now they are coworkers on the same project team.
Chris Shula is the son of Dave Shula, the former head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals, and the grandson of Hall of Fame coach Don Shula. Mike Shula, his uncle, was a former University of Alabama head coach.
He was a linebacker for the Miami RedHawks from 2004 to 2008, where he shared the field with Sean McVay on a number of occasions. On February 23, 2021, Shula was elevated to the position of linebackers coach with the Los Angeles Rams.
When the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, Shula was crowned Super Bowl winner.
